Raising boys was never meant to happen alone.

Too many mothers—especially in underserved communities—are carrying the weight of parenting without enough support, guidance, or safe spaces to turn to.

At the same time, too many boys are growing up without spaces that nurture confidence, emotional wellness, leadership, conflict resolution, and healthy relationships.

Every boy deserves guidance before intervention is needed and every mother deserves a village before she feels alone. That's why M.A.T.S. exists.

She searched for the village...
THEN SHE BUILT IT.

When Latrice became a mother at 21, she knew she wanted something different for her son—a future shaped by confidence, emotional wellness, leadership, and opportunity. But finding support wasn’t easy.

Environments for boys to grow, learn life skills, and receive mentorship felt limited, and many mothers raising sons were navigating it all without community.

So Latrice created what she wished existed: a space where mothers and sons could grow together, build confidence, strengthen relationships, and find the support they deserve. A village rooted in connection, compassion, and communal growth.

  • 4L LAB

    4L Lab is a monthly in-person leadership and personal development experience for boys in grades K–8, held every third Saturday at Grace Church. Centered around the four pillars of Learn, Lead, Live, and Love Together, each session explores age-appropriate topics that help boys build confidence, leadership skills, emotional awareness, healthy relationships, and life skills in a supportive community environment.

    *Open to M.A.T.S. members only.

  • MOMS DEN

    Moms Den is a monthly virtual gathering designed to support, encourage, and connect mothers raising sons. Held every third Tuesday on Zoom, each session features a guest speaker or guided discussion focused on topics such as parenting, emotional wellness, relationships, personal growth, and navigating the unique journey of raising boys

  • MOMS CONNECT

    Moms Connect is a recurring community walk designed to help mothers prioritize wellness, connection, and conversation. During this one-hour gathering, moms come together to enjoy physical activity while discussing topics related to motherhood, personal growth, and everyday life.

    I’ll be honest, I’m biased to how great the founder and M.A.T.S. is. The founder just so happens to be my son’s godmother; I couldn’t imagine anyone else creating a safe space for both the mother and the son.

    Whether M.A.T.S. or the personal connection, I’ve gained the knowledge and the understanding of how to communicate, how to relate to, motivate and correct certain behaviors of my own and my sons appropriately. During M.A.T.S. conception, I had one son, now I have two sons (24 and 9), and I’m still in need of this connection as times change and will be a forever member.
