ABOUT M.A.T.S.
Where Mothers & Sons Grow Stronger Together
Through leadership, emotional wellness, mentorship, and meaningful community, M.A.T.S. is helping families thrive—one generation at a time.
OUR STORY
we Started With One Mother Asking:
What If My Son Deserves More?
When our Founder, Latrice Callier, became a mother at 21, she knew she wanted something different for her son.
She wanted him to grow into a young man who was emotionally healthy, confident, compassionate, self-aware, and equipped with the life skills needed to navigate the world—not just survive it.
She wanted him exposed to leadership, communication, emotional wellness, financial understanding, healthy relationships, cultural awareness, and environments that expanded what he believed was possible.
But when she looked for support, something felt missing.
Many programs available to boys were sports-centered, reactive instead of proactive, inaccessible, or financially out of reach for everyday families.
Spaces where boys could openly learn life skills, emotional wellness, leadership, communication, and confidence were limited.
and mothers?
Too many were trying to figure it out alone. Navigating behavior, emotions, identity, discipline, school systems, burnout, finances, and the pressure of raising boys without enough support or spaces where they could be honest about what motherhood actually feels like.
Latrice knew there had to be another way...so she built what she wished existed.
A space where mothers could talk openly, ask hard questions, feel supported, and learn together. A space where boys could grow in confidence, emotional intelligence, communication, leadership, and self-awareness. A space rooted in compassion, accountability, healing, growth, and connection.
Where Mothers & Sons Grow, Connect & ThrivE
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to create nurturing spaces where mothers and sons can grow together, build meaningful connections, and thrive through shared learning, compassionate support, and healthy relationships.
Because when mothers are supported and boys are given safe environments to grow, entire generations thrive.
Leading With Purpose. Building With Heart.
Our leadership team is made up of passionate individuals who are committed to strengthening families, creating opportunities for youth, and building the kind of village every mother and son deserves.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
Moms and Sons Deserve More Than Survival
We believe boys deserve safe spaces where they can learn confidence, emotional awareness, communication, leadership, healthy relationships, accountability, and resilience.
We believe mothers deserve support too. Not judgment. Not isolation. Not the pressure of carrying everything alone.
We believe communities grow stronger when families feel connected, supported, and resourced.
And we believe prevention matters. Healing matters. Mentorship matters. Community matters. Because the strongest futures are built long before crisis ever happens.
OUR VISION
Breaking Cycles. Building Legacy. Raising Stronger Generations.
Mothers and Their Sons (MATS) envisions a thriving community where every mother and son grows in knowledge, confidence, and compassion—learning side by side, leading with purpose, living with integrity, and loving through understanding. Together, we are building generations of families equipped to break barriers, strengthen legacies, and create lasting change.
